First Look: Akkineni's 'Manam'
Ahead of the 90th birthday of veteran actor A. Nageswara Rao today, the first look of his family entertainer 'Manam' was unveiled on Thursday.
Directed by Vikram K. Kumar, the film features all the three generations of Akkinenis together.
Is the film Manam based on 'Back to the Future'?
The talk of tinsel town for some time now has been the coming together of the Akkineni family for 'Manam'. This ambitious film is being directed by Vikram Kumar. The shooting has already commenced and senior actor Akkineni Nageswar Rao has started working after a long period.
Sources close to the makers have revealed that 'Manam' is loosely based on the English film 'Back to the Future'. It is being said that Nagarjuna plays Naga Chaitanya's son and Nageswar Rao as son of Nagarjuna! It would be really interesting to see how these actors pull off these role reversals on screen.
Buzz is that Nagarjuna goes back from the future to help himself and his father. Some even say that the film is inspired by the popular children's cartoon 'Doremon', in which the grandchild sends back his pet robot to help his father and himself.
Back to the Future has already been remade in Bollywood in recent times with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai in the lead as 'Action Replay'. But the film did not fare well at the box office.
