Software giant Microsoft is trying its luck hard to prove itself in the on-going race with Google and Apple. But the company does not seem to be winning the race so far. In the global mobile app marketplace, Microsoft is not reaching its goal of creating a space in the battleground. On the other hand, Google and Apple have successfully managed to emboss a space for themselves and the consumers worldwide.
Meanwhile Microsoft has no plans to give up, at least in the Indian market. Therefore it has turned towards the Bollywood. Bollywood movies are the primary source to win billions of "Desi" hearts, beating for Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and Ranbir. Microsoft knows us well and this is why they have adopted a new technique to be a part of our lives.
Obviously, Microsoft is not planning to enter Bollywood to make films. It has entered in order to make apps and games for Windows Phone Store.
A game based on Dhoom 3, (starring Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan) has been download over a million times from the Windows Phone App Store. Dhoom 3 game is developed by 99Games Online Private Limited in collaboration with Yash Raj Films Private Limited.
Noticeably, this is not the first time Microsoft has associated with Aamir Khan. Last year, company had illumined a campaign called Talaash + Windows 8, wherein developers across the India had to develop an application for the Windows 8 platform and stand a chance to meet Inspector Surjan Singh Shekhawat, character played by Aamir Khan in the movie.
With the launch of this game, Microsoft is ensuring that all the best action is happening first on the Windows Phone and then on Android and iOS.
As expected, Microsoft and Yash Raj Films have launched a nationwide Windows Phone Dhoom 3 contest for college students. The winner gets to meet Aamir Khan in person. source: i2.cdn.turner.com
