Kudankulam s first unit synchronised
The first unit of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project was synchronised with the southern regional electricity grid in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to an official, the synchronisation took place at about 2.45 a.m. and went up to around 4.45 a.m. As the authorities claimed, the unit, whose capacity is 1,000 megawatt (MWe), produced up to 150 MW.
It may take a few more months for the Unit to be commissioned, the official added.
