Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 28: Oommen Chandy, the current chief minister of Kerala was paid a visit by the opposition leader and CPI (M) stalwart V S Achuthanandan in the Medical college hospital where he was admitted and kept under observation after being hurt as LDF workers pelted stones at Kannaur.

Despite declining to make any comments to the media, Achuthanandan condemned the attack openly saying that the LDF should not have reacted violently over the solarpanel scam.

Though wanting to attend the mass contact program sceduled for tomorrow at the neighbouring Kollam district, it has been postponed to the next week on doctor's advice.

The second phase of the district-wise mass contact programme, started in the state capital last week and has been drawing huge mass from across the state. The audience mostly included the under-privileged seeking advice on healthcare and welfare pension.

Menawhile, Chandy was clear about his opinion on the entire incident on a Facebook post. He called upon the UDF supporters and asked them not to resort to violence over the incident, stating that he will continue with the programme sceduled on November 18. "Considering the hardship suffered by the Congress workers (from the opponents) what I suffered is insignificant. If the CPI(M) is willing to shun violence, I am ready to forgive yesterday's violence," he said.

Nevertheless, Congress is observing protests across the state, but no unfavourable situation has been reported till now.
