Though Rupesh Paul's Kamasutra 3D hasn't got much appreciation from India yet, the film is already one of the prime contenders in 3 categories at the 86th Academy Awards. The film is expected to be running in the race for Oscars in three major categories including - Best Feature Films, Original Scores and Original Songs category. The list was announced on Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences official Website on Monday.
Though the film has little scope of winning in the feature film category given stiff competition from films like Tom Hanks-starrer Captain Phillips, The Conjuring, The Fifth Estate, Gravity, The Great Gatsby , The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug and The Wolf Of Wall Street.
The film is based Vatsyayana's epic and acclaimed work Kamasutra, the film tells the story of Princess' journey who embarks upon a difficult voyage to find her husband. The film encapsulated her transformations in terms of body and soul as a fellow passenger brisks her though the denied arena of sexuality and sensuality.
