Another live bomb was reportedly recovered from Patna's Gandhi Maidan on Tuesday, two days after serial blasts targeted Narendra Modi's rally at the same venue, killing six people and injuring 90 others on Sunday.
1.00pmBomb disposal squad, reports said, was yet again at Gandhi Maidan after the was found during the checks by Bihar Police.
Preliminary reports suggested the National Security Guard (NSG) was called in. It is believed that the discovered bomb is similar to the devices that exploded across Patna on Sunday.
Notably, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde was expected to visit Patna earlier today. However, his visit was cancelled following the unavailability of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
12.30pm: Sushilkumar Shinde said that Centre had sent alert to Bihar about possible terror attack on Narendra Modi's rally in Patna.
Seven bombs went off between 11.40 am and 12.45 pm on Sunday - the first at Patna railway station's platform 10, and the rest in and around Gandhi Maidan where Narendra Modiwas scheduled to speak shortly afterward.
On Monday, police had named Tehseen Akhtar alias Monu and Waqas - said to be aides of Indian Mujahideen (IM) co-founder Yasin Bhatkal - as the main conspirators behind the attack.
The Bihar government on Monday had written to the union home ministry asking that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) take over the probe. In the evening, teams of the NIA and Patna Police had reached Ranchi to continue the investigation.
