New Delhi, Oct 29: India has developed a new surface-to-durface missile 'Pragati' and has planned to offer it to friendly countries. It has a range between 60-170 km. A modified version of the Prahaar missile by the DRDO, developed for the Army, this missile has export qualities with a few differences. The missile is on display by a defence exhibition in South Korea.
India has many exhibits in the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2013), but the main is the 'Pragati'. Leading the Indian delegation here is DRDO Chief Avinash Chander who says that this the first time ever that India has displayed its ace productions at such an international scale.
"DRDO is showcasing 'Pragati' tactical missile, 'Akash' missile system and 'Tejas' LCA and its variants. Explosive Detection Kit developed by the DRDO and recently launched in the US will be yet another key exhibit," noted an Indian embassy release in South Korea.
DRDO has another project LCA, which has long been delayed and is still ongoing.
