Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday fulfilled yet another poll promise as he announced a 50 per cent cut on power tariffs for families consuming upto 400 units of electricity. In more good news, he said that the tariff might go down further after audit of power firms.

He added, "The reforms are not temporary, but have been made for the current fiscal term."

The decision to subsidise power tariff, which will involve a cash outgo of Rs 61 crores in the next three months, was announced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after a meeting of the cabinet.

The subsidy, one of the major promises of AAP during the Assembly elections, will benefit 28 lakh consumers.

The cut in the electricity tariff came a day after Kejriwal announced supply of 20 kilolitres of water free of cost, another key election promise made by AAP.

இங்குள்ள முகாமில் எவ்வித பிரச்சினைகளும் இல்லை. முகாமில் தங்கியுள்ள மக்களிடம் பேசியதில் அவர்கள் அனைவரும் நல்ல முறையில் கவனித்து கொள்ளப்படுவதாக தெரிவித்தனர் என்றார்.

கடும் குளிரான சூழ்நிலையில்கூட நள்ளிரவு நேரத்தில் அவர் ஆய்வு செய்ய வந்தது இங்கு கவனிக்கத்தக்கது. வீடு இல்லாதவர்களுக்காக டெல்லியில் 150 முகாம்கள் உள்ளது. இந்த ஆய்வின் போது அவருடன் அக்கட்சி தலைவர்கள் குமார் விஸ்வாஸ் மற்றும் சஞ்சய் சிங் ஆகியோர் உடனிருந்தனர்.

பேரிகார்டு மீது ஏறி நின்று கோஷமிட்ட அவர், டெல்லி காவல்துறையை டெல்லி அரசின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் கொண்டு வரவேண்டும் என்றும் வலியுறுத்தினார். பின்னர் அவரை சக போலீஸ்காரர்கள் கீழே இறக்கி, அந்த இடத்தில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றினர்.

டெல்லியின் துணைக்கோள் நகரமாக திகழும் காசியாபாத் உத்தரபிரதேச மாநிலத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாகும். அங்கு 20 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு கட்டப்பட்ட கிர்னர் குடியிருப்பை மத்திய வருவாய் துறை தன் அதிகாரிகளை குடியமர்த்த வாங்கியது.

அரவிந்த் கெஜ்ரிவால் ஐஆர்எஸ் அதிகாரி என்பதால் கவுசாம்பியில் உள்ள அந்த அடுக்குமாடி குடியிருப்பில் வசிக்க வீடு ஒதுக்கியது. அங்குள்ள 4–வது மாடியில் ஒரு வீட்டில் கெஜ்ரிவால் தன் மனைவி மற்றும் 2 குழந்தைகளுடன் வசித்து வருகிறார்.

கடந்த 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக அந்த குடியிருப்பில் வசித்து வரும் கெஜ்ரிவால், அந்த குடியிருப்பில் உள்ள அனைவருடனும் எளிமையாக பழகினார். இதனால்தான் ஆம் ஆத்மி கட்சி தொடங்கி பிரபலமான பிறகும் கூட அவர் தன் எளிய 4–வது மாடி வீட்டை மாற்றிக் கொள்ளவில்லை.

என்றாலும் ஆம் ஆத்மி கட்சித் தொண்டர்கள் தினமும் நூற்றுக்கணக்கில் அந்த குடியிருப்பு முன்பு திரள்வது வழக்கம். கெஜ்ரிவால் முதல்– மந்திரியாக பொறுப்பு ஏற்க போவதாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட நாள்முதல் அங்கு தினமும் மக்கள் வெள்ளம் போல திரண்டு வருகிறார்கள்.

இதற்கிடையே 15–க்கும் மேற்பட்ட தனியார் தொலைக்காட்சிகள் தங்களது நேரடி ஒளிபரப்பு வாகனங்களை அங்கு நிரந்தரமாக நிறுத்தியுள்ளன. இதனால் கெஜ்ரிவால் வசிக்கும் குடியிருப்பு பகுதிகளில் கடும் வாகன நெரிசல் ஏற்படுகிறது.

மூன்று மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பு வரை கெஜ்ரிவால் வசிக்கும் குடியிருப்புப் பகுதி அமைதிப்பூங்காவாக இருந்தது. தற்போது அதிகாரிகள் வருகை, போலீஸ் கெடுபிடி, தொண்டர்கள் படையெடுப்பு, போலீசார் குவிப்பு காரணமாக தினம், தினம் அந்த குடியிருப்பு அல்லோகலப்பட்டுக் கொண் டிருக்கிறது.

இதற்கிடையே நூற்றுக்கணக்கான மக்கள் கடந்த சில தினங்களாக கோரிக்கை மனுக்களுடன் திரண்டபடி உள்ளனர். மாற்றத்தை விரும்பும் இளைஞர்கள் படை, கெஜ்ரிவால் பக்கத்தில் நின்று ஒரே ஒரு போட்டோ மட்டும் எடுக்கலாம் என்று ஆசையுடன் வருகிறார்கள். அவர் பயணம் செய்யும் சில ஆண்டு பழைய மாடல் காரான வேகன்–ஆர் காரை படம் எடுத்துச் செல்கிறார்கள்.

இப்படி பல வகைகளில் குவியும் மக்களால் கவுசாம்பி குடியிருப்பு மக்கள் கடும் சிரமத்துக்கு உள்ளாகி இருக்கிறார்கள். மக்கள் படையெடுப்பை தடுக்க அவர்கள் அந்த குடியிருப்பின் மெயின் கேட்–டை பூட்டி வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். அந்த குடியிருப்பின் மற்ற சிறு நுழைவாயில்களை பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.

இந்த குடியிருப்பில் வசிக்கும் நாங்கள் எல்லாருமே அரசு ஊழியர்கள்தான். எங்களோடு இருக்கும் கெஜ்ரிவால் இந்த நாட்டுக்காக பொதுச் சேவையில் ஈடுபட்டு இருப்பதை நாங்கள் அறிவோம்.

கடந்த 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேலாக கெஜ்ரிவால் எங்களோடு இருக்கிறார். ஒவ்வொருவருடனும் அவர் நல்லெண்ணத்துடன் பழகுவார். இப்போது அவர் முதல்–மந்திரி ஆகிவிட்டதால், அவரைப் பார்க்க நிறைய பேர் வருகிறார்கள்.

நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட வாகனங்கள் வருவதும், போவதுமாக உள்ளன. ஒருவகையில் இது எங்களுக்கு மிகவும் அசவுகரியமாகத்தான் உள்ளது. என்றாலும் நாங்கள் அதைப் பொருட்படுத்தவில்லை. அவர் எங்களோடு ஒருவராக இருக்கிறார். எங்களை போல சாமானிய கனாக இருந்து அவர் முதல் வராகி இருப்பது எங்களுக்கு பெருமை தருகிறது. அவருக்கு முழு ஒத்துழைப்பு கொடுப்போம்.

இவ்வாறு சலீல் மிஸ்ரா கூறினார்.

கெஜ்ரிவாலின் குடியிருப்புக்கு பாதுகாப்பு கொடுக்க டெல்லி போலீசாரும், காசியாபாத் நகர போலீசாரும் முன் வந்தனர். இரண்டு வேன்கள் நிறைய போலீசாரை கொண்டு இறக்கினார்கள். அவர்கள் நேற்றும், இன்றும் கெஜ்ரிவால் வீடு அருகே திரண்டவர்களை சமாளிக்க திணறினார்கள்.

இந்த நிலையில் டெல்லி மற்றும் காசியாபாத் நகர போலீசாரின் பாதுகாப்பை ஏற்க கெஜ்ரிவால் திட்டவட்டமாக மறுத்துவிட்டார். எந்த வகையிலும் தனக்கு பாதுகாப்பு வேண்டாம் என்று அவர் கூறி விட்டார். தன்னிடம் மனு கொடுப்பவர்களை ஒழுங்குபடுத்த மட்டும் போலீசார் உதவி செய்தால் போதும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளார்.

முதல்– மந்திரியாக பதவி ஏற்க சம்மதம் தெரிவித்த உடனே கெஜ்ரிவால் ஒரு அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்டார். ''டெல்லியில் உள்ள விஐபி கலாச்சாரத்தை நாம் ஒழித்துக் காட்ட வேண்டும். எனவே எனக்கு அரசு பங்களா, அரசு கார் உள்ளிட்ட எந்த சிறப்பு சலுகைகளும் வேண்டாம் என்று அறிவித்தார்.

2006–ம் ஆண்டு ஐஆர்எஸ் பணியில் இருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்று விட்டாலும் தொடர்ந்து கவுசாம்பியில் உள்ள குடியிருப்பிலேயே தங்கி இருக்க அவர் திட்டமிட்டார். அவரது மனைவி சுனிதா இப்போதும் ஐஆர்எஸ் அதிகாரியாக வருவாய் துறையில் பணியாற்றி வருவதால், அரசு கொடுத்துள்ள அந்த வீட்டிலேயே இருந்து கொண்டு முதல்வர் பணியை தொடரலாம் என்று நினைத்தார்.

ஆனால் பெரும் எதிர்பார்ப்புகளுடன், கோரிக்கை மனுக்களை எழுதி எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, கெஜ்ரிவால் வீட்டை நோக்கி வரும் சாதாரண மக்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்துள்ளது. நம்பிக்கையோடு வரும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலனவர்கள் கவுசாம்பியில் கடும் அவதிக்குள்ளாகிறார்கள்.

தன் ஒரு நபரால் குடியிருப்பு வாசிகளும், தன்னைப்பார்க்க வருபவர்களும் தினம், தினம் கடும் அவதிக்குள்ளாவதை கெஜ்ரிவால் விரும்பவில்லை. எனவே அவர் வீடு மாற முடிவு செய்துள்ளார்.

4 அறை, காரை நிறுத்த ஒரு இடம், பொது மக்களை சந்தித்து பேச வீட்டின் முன்பு விஸ்தாரமான இட வசதி ஆகியவற்றை கொண்ட வீட்டை வாடகைக்கு பெற கெஜ்ரிவால் விருப்பம் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். தலைமைச் செயலகம் உள்ள இடத்தில் இருந்து நடந்து செல்லும் தூரத்தில் வாடகைக்கு வீடு கிடைத்தால் வசதியாக இருக்கும் என்று அவர் கூறியுள்ளார்.

அப்படி ஒரு வீடு கிடைக்குமா என்று ஆம் ஆத்மி கட்சித் தொண்டர்கள் தேடுதல் வேட்டையில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர். டெல்லி செகரட்டரியேட் பகுதியில் 5 அறைகள் கொண்ட வீடு, தற்போது ஒரு லட்சம் ரூபாய்க்கு வாடகைக்கு விடப்படுகிறது.

ஆனால் கொஞ்சம் குறைவான வாடகையில் வீடு பார்க்கும்படி கெஜ்ரிவால் கூறியுள்ளார். அவர் விருப்பத்துக்கு ஏற்ப வீட்டை கண்டுபிடிக்கும் முயற்சிகளில் தற்போது டெல்லி மாநில அரசு அதிகாரிகளும் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர்.

வாடகைக்கு வீடு கிடைக்க சிறிது நாள் ஆகும் என்று தெரியவந்துள்ளது. எனவே கெஜ்ரிவால் முதலில் சில நாட்கள் விருந்தினர் மாளிகையில் தங்கி விட்டு பிறகு வாடகை வீட்டுக்கு செல்வார் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது.

டெல்லியில் இந்திர பிரஸ்தா பகுதியில் மாநில அரசுக்கு சொந்தமான, அனைத்து வசதிகளுடன் கூடிய விருந்தினர் மாளிகை உள்ளது. இன்னும் இரு நாட்களில் கவுசாம்பி அடுக்குமாடி குடியிருப்பை காலி செய்துவிட்டு, கெஜ்ரிவால், இந்த விருந்தினர் மாளிகைக்கு வந்து விடுவார் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

டெல்லியில் ஆம் ஆத்மி கட்சியின் அலுவலகம் அனுமன் சாலையில் உள்ள 41–ம் எண் கொண்ட பங்களாவில் இருக்கிறது. ஆம் ஆத்மி கட்சி நிர்வாகி ஒருவருக்கு சொந்தமான அந்த பங்களாவை அவர் மாதம் ஒன்றுக்கு ஒரு ரூபாய் வாடகைப் பெற்றுக் கொண்டு கட்சிக்காகக் கொடுத்துள்ளார்.

அதுபோல இதுவரை மந்திரிகள் வசித்து வந்த பங்களாக்களை உயர் அரசு அதிகாரிகளுக்கும், ராணுவ அதிகாரிகளுக்கும் கொடுக்கும்படி கெஜ்ரிவால் அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளார். பெரிய பங்களாக்களை அதிகாரிகளுக்கு ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யும் பணி தொடங்கிவிட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில் சிறிய வாடகை வீட்டை கெஜ்ரி வாலுக்காக கண்டுபிடிப்பது அதிகாரிகளுக்கு பெரும் சவாலாக மாறி உள்ளது. வாடகை வீட்டை தேடிக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

கெஜ்ரிவால் பாணியில் அவரது 6 அமைச்சர்களும் வாடகை வீடுகளில் குடியேற விருப்பம் தெரிவித்தனர். ஆனால் 6 மந்திரிகளுக்கும் வாடகைக்கு வீடு தேடுவது கடினம் என்று கூறப்பட்டது.

இதையடுத்து நீதிபதி ஆர்.எம்.லோதா தலைமையில் 3 உறுப்பினர்களை கொண்ட விசாரணை குழுவை சுப்ரீம் கோர்ட்டு தலைமை நீதிபதி பி.சதாசிவம் அமைத்தார். இந்த குழு விசாரணை நடத்தி அறிக்கை அளித்தது. அதைத்தொடர்ந்து தலைமை நீதிபதி பி.சதாசிவம் வெளியிட்ட அறிக்கையில், நீதிபதி கங்குலி மீதான பாலியல் புகாருக்கு அடிப்படை ஆதாரம் உள்ளது, எனினும் சம்பவம் நடந்த காலகட்டத்தில் அவர் நீதிபதியாக இல்லை, ஓய்வு பெற்று விட்டார், எனவே அவர் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க தேவையில்லை. கோர்ட்டுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிர்வாக அதிகாரத்தின்படி, ஓய்வு பெற்ற ஒரு நீதிபதியின் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கமுடியாது எனவும் கூறப்பட்டிருந்தது.

இதுதொடர்பாக மேற்கு வங்காள முதல்-மந்திரி மம்தா பானர்ஜி, ஜனாதிபதி பிரணாப் முகர்ஜிக்கு கடிதம் எழுதினார். அந்த கடிதத்தை அவர் மத்திய அரசுக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தார். மத்திய அரசு இந்த பிரச்சினையில் அட்டார்னி ஜெனரல் ஜி.இ.வாஹன்வதியின் சட்ட ஆலோசனையை நாடியது. பயிற்சி பெண் வக்கீலின் செக்ஸ் புகார், மேற்கு வங்காள மாநில அரசிடம் தகவல் தெரிவிக்காமல் கங்குலி பாகிஸ்தான் சென்று வந்தது, மனித உரிமை கமிஷன் தலைவர் பதவி வகித்துக்கொண்டே அகில இந்திய கால்பந்து சம்மேளனத்துக்கான பணி ஒன்றை ஏற்றது ஆகிய 3 பிரச்சினைகள் தொடர்பாக அவரது கருத்து கேட்கப்பட்டது. அவர் தனது பதிலை மத்திய அரசுக்கு அளித்து விட்டார்.

அதில் அவர் பெண் பயிற்சி வக்கீல் புகார் குறித்து கங்குலி மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதற்கான ஆதாரங்கள் உள்ளதாக கருத்து தெரிவித்துள்ளதாக தெரிகிறது.

It wouldn't be wrong to say that elections in India are starting to be fought on social networking websites. The recently concluded Delhi Assembly polls are proof that the power of the social media cannot be underestimated here in India. Two parties that have come up as the darlings of websites are the BJP and the AAP, and the latter is thrashing all other parties as far as numbers go.

In an interview to Firstpost, Ankit Lal, the IT head for the Aam Aadmi Party has said that it will constantly be using the social medium better to gain support. Besides following up and making good on their promises made during the Delhi polls, AAP will be using social networking websites like Facebook and Google in order to connect with newer masses for the upcoming General Elections in 2014. Just to give you a glimpse of how fast the party's clout seems to be growing – AAP's Facebook page has about 861,000 likes and is seeing about 67,000 new likes daily.

Lal said that AAP is using social networking websites to communicate with local people and working towards solving them. For instance, he says, water and road problems are being tracked through messages on social platforms in Delhi. "We have already got our state and district pages in place. We are in the process of distributing the charge of these pages to our local teams. They will be managed by the local teams and will be supervised by our core central team. We are trying to implement our swaraj model in social media as well," he said. Lal also said that Arvind Kejriwal, leader of AAP and now Chief Minister of Delhi, will be a part of Google Hangouts soon to spread the message for the party's 2014 campaign.

Lal said that the party is also open to trying out new vistas when it came to social networking website. In the past, the party had a Call-Delhi campaign, where volunteered called up people, canvassing for votes. The campaign, the party says, will be back in a better and more organised way. முதல்–மந்திரியாக பதவி ஏற்க உள்ள கெஜ்ரிவால் பாரம்பரிய பழக்கம், மரபுகளை எல்லாம் ஒதுக்கி விட்டு மிக, மிக எளிமையை கடைபிடித்து வருகிறார். தனக்கு போலீஸ் பாதுகாப்பு, அரசு பங்களா, அரசு கார் என்று எதுவும் வேண்டாம் என்று அவர் அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

டெல்லி சாலைகளில் செல்லும்போது தனக்காக போக்குவரத்தை நிறுத்தக் கூடாது என்றும் அவர் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார். அவரது இந்த எளிமையான செயல்பாடுகள் டெல்லி மக்களிடம் மட்டுமின்றி நாடெங்கும் உள்ளவர்களிடம் ஆச்சரியத்தையும், ஆதரவையும் பெற்றுள்ளது.

இந்த நிலையில் இன்று நிருபர்களிடம் பேசிய அவர், நாளை முதல்–மந்திரியாக பதவி ஏற்பதற்கு மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் செல்லப் போவதாக கூறியுள்ளார். அவருடன் ஆம்ஆத்மி கட்சி எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் அனைவரும் உடன் செல்வார்கள் என்று தெரிய வந்தள்ளது.

நாளை முதல்–மந்திரியாக பதவி ஏற்க நான் ராம்லீலா மைதானத்துக்கு மெட்ரோ ரெயிலில் செல்லலாம் என்று திட்டமிட்டுள்ளேன். டெல்லியில் மேல் இருந்து கீழ் வரை எல்லா மட்டத்திலும் நிர்வாகம் சீர்குலைந்து கிடக்கிறது. அவற்றை மாற்றி அமைக்க வேண்டியது அவசியமாகும்.

உள்ளூரில் உள்ள சிறு, சிறு பிரச்சினைகள் கூட தீர்க்கப்படாததால்தான் ஒவ்வொன்றுக்கும் மக்கள் முதல்–மந்திரியை தேடி வருகிறார்கள். மக்கள் தங்கள் பிரச்சினை தீர்க்கக் கோரி மிகப்பெரிய எதிர் பார்ப்புகளுடன் வருகிறார்கள்.

இது கவலை அளிக்கும் சூழ்நிலையாக உள்ளது. இந்த நிலையை மாற்ற நாங்கள் கடுமையாக பாடுபட வேண்டும்.

தற்போது மக்கள் முன் உள்ள பிரச்சினைகளில் 90 சதவீத பிரச்சினைகள் உள்ளூர் மட்டத்தில் ஆனது. மக்கள் சபையை ஏற்படுத்தி ஜனதா தர்பார் நடத்தினால் இந்த பிரச்சினைகளை தீர்க்க முடியும்.

இதன் மூலம் மக்கள் எங்களை அணுகும்போது மற்ற பிரச்சினைகளுக்கு ஒரு தீர்வுடன் வருவார்கள். அவர்கள் பிரச்சினைக்காக வர மாட்டார்கள்.

மக்களுக்காக பணியாற்றுவதற்கான நேரம் வந்து விட்டது. மக்களின் கனவை பூர்த்தி செய்வேன்.

டெல்லி தலைமை செயலகத்தில் உள்ள அறையில் உட்கார்ந்து இருக்க நான் விரும்பவில்லை. பெரும்பாலான நேரங்களில் மக்கள் பணியாற்ற சாலை யோரங்களில் நடமாடவே விரும்புகிறேன்.

இப்போது மக்கள் என்னை எளிதில் அணுகுகிறார்கள். அது போல நான் முதல்–மந்திரியாக பொறுப்பு ஏற்ற பிறகும் மக்கள் என்னை எளிதில் சந்திக்கலாம்.

தலைமை செயலகத்தில் சும்மா உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் மரபை நாங்கள் உடைத்தெறிவோம். மக்களால்தான் இந்த ஆட்சி நடைபெற உள்ளது.

டெல்லியில் அரசு பங்களாவில் குடியேற நாங்கள் விரும்பவில்லை. நான் டெல்லியில் சிறிய வாடகை வீடு ஒன்று பார்த்து வருகிறேன். வீடு முன்பு மக்களை சந்திப்பதற்கு வசதியான இடமாக அது இருக்க வேண்டும்.

மக்கள் பிரச்சினைகளை தீர்க்கும் மந்திரக் கோல் எதுவும் என்னிடம் இல்லை. என்றாலும் மக்கள் பங்களிப்புடன் எல்லா பிரச்சினைகளையும் தீர்க்க முயல்வேன்.

நல்ல நேர்மையான மனிதர்கள் கை கோர்த்தால் முடியாதது ஒன்றுமில்லை. எனது மந்திரிசபை சிறியதாகத்தான் இருக்கும். புதிய மந்திரிகள் யார்– யார்? என்பது நாளைதான் அறிவிக்கப்படும்.

மக்களுக்கு பணியாற்ற விரும்பும் நேர்மையான அதிகாரிகள் கடிதம், இ–மெயில், பேக்ஸ் மூலம் என்னை தொடர்பு கொள்ளலாம் என்று அறிவித்திருந்தேன். அதை ஏற்று பலரும் என்னை தொடர்பு கொண்டுள்ளனர்.

அவர்கள் ஒத்துழைப்புடன் ஊழலற்ற திறமையான ஆட்சியைக் கொடுக்க முடியும். டெல்லியில் ஒரு கோடியே 70 லட்சம் மக்கள் உள்ளனர்.

அவர்களில் சுமார் 1 லட்சம் பேர் கடும் குளிரால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். அவர்களுக்கு ஏதாவது ஒரு வழியில் உதவ வேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்படுகிறேன்.

இதற்கிடையே டெல்லியில் வாகனங்களில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் கியாசின் விலையில் திடீரென்று ரூ. 4.50உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் ஒரு கிலோ கியாஸ் ரூ 56 ஆக அதிகரித்துள்ளது.

இது டெல்லி மக்களை அதிர்ச்சி அடைய வைத்துள்ளது. கெஜ்ரிவால் இது தொடர்பாக டூவிட்டரில் வெளியிட்டுள்ள செய்தியில் நான் முதல்வராக பதவி ஏற்க உள்ள நேரத்தில் வாகன கியாஸ் விலை உயர்த்தப்பட்டு இருப்பது சந்தேகம் அளிக்கிறது என்று கூறியுள்ளார்.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in "Bigg Boss - Saath 7"

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will perform with Swedish-Greek actress Elli Avram on Saturday at the grand finale of the popular reality show "Bigg Boss - Saath 7".

The duo will be seen performing to the song "Mashallah", which was picturised on Salman and Katrina Kaif in the hit spy thriller "Ek Tha Tiger".

Many felt that Elli, who made her Bollywood debut with "Mickey Virus", was one of Salman's favourite contestants on the show. He often referred to her as "paanch saal pehle ki Katrina Kaif".

Though she spoke in broken Hindi, Elli managed to grasp songs like "Tere bina jiya jaaye na" and "Hum dil de chuke sanam" on the show. Those who have followed the show must have seen her dedicating the songs to Salman, whom she often referred to as "Salmanji" or "Salman jaan".

The finale won't be the first time that Salman and Elli will be seen dancing together. The two jived on "Sathiya ye tune kya kiya" after Elli's eviction from the show Nov 23.

The other performances on the finale night will be of Armaan Kohli, Pratyusha Banerjee and Kamya Punjabi.

New Delhi, Dec 25 (IS) Arvind Kejriwal, who tapped into public anger to take the AAP to the corridors of power, will take oath Saturday as Delhi's seventh chief minister, with his party promising to "completely overhaul" the system.

Activist-turned-unlikely politician Kejriwal, 45, will be sworn in by Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung at the sprawling Ramlila Maidan here along with six cabinet ministers at a function expected to draw thousands of supporters.

The proposed ministers are former journalists Manish Sisodia, 41, and Rakhi Birla, 26, former lawyers Saurabh Bharadwaj, 34, and Somnath Bharti, 39, architect Satyendra Jain, 49, and businessman Girish Soni, 49.

A woman, Birla will be one of the youngest ministers in India.

It will be a minority government -- the AAP won only 28 seats in the 70-member assembly -- and will depend on the legislative backing of the eight legislators of the Congress, which was voted out after 15 years.

The main opposition will come from the 31-member strong Bharatiya Janata Party, which refused to form a government.

Speaking outside his home at Kaushambi, an Uttar Pradesh township neighbouring Delhi, Kejriwal pledged to unveil a Jan Lokpal bill within 15 days of taking office to battle corruption.

Kejriwal, who won the Magsaysay award in 2006 for "emergent leadership" and has a history of social activism, admitted there would be many hurdles but vowed to overcome them all.

The AAP has invited Gandhian activist Anna Hazare, former Supreme Court judge Santosh Hegde and former police officer Kiran Bedi for the swearing in.

The Ramlila Maidan was where Hazare fasted for 12 days in 2011 for a Jan Lokpal bill with Kejriwal as one of his aides. Kejriwal, who formed the AAP in November last year, has since had a fallout with Hazare and Bedi.

Somnath Bharti, who is set to become a minister, told IANS that the AAP government will "completely overhaul" the system and changes will be visible within 60 days.

Slashing power tariff by half -- one of the key promises made by the AAP -- will remain on top of the agenda, he said.

"We will completely overhaul the system, and changes will be visible within two months of our coming to power," he said. "Our first priority is to reduce the power tariff. If needed, we will give subsidy."

"Every official will be closely watched," he added. "We will identify the corrupt officers in every department and remove them from their posts. The honest officials will be encouraged and protected."

Kejriwal is expected to spend the next three days strategising how to implement the AAP's election manifesto, with possible meetings with Delhi government officials as well as party colleagues.

Also Wednesday, the Congress scotched speculation that it was having second thoughts on propping up the AAP, removing what looked like the last of the hurdles vis-a-vis government formation.

"There will be no rethinking on the issue-based support the Congress has given to AAP," said spokesman Sandeep Dikshit, an MP and son of former chief minister Sheila Dikshit.

Earlier, Kejriwal denied there was any rift within the AAP.

Two-time municipal councillor Vinod Kumar Binny had walked out of a party meeting Tuesday where the decision on cabinet ministers was taken -- after he was not included in the ministry.

This triggered speculation that he was upset and may revolt.

Kejriwal said: "Binny met me in the evening (Tuesday) and informed me that he did not want any post. He told the same thing to the media."

Binny, who defeated Delhi Health Minister A.K. Walia, also said he was not upset.

Born in Haryana and now residing at Kaushambi adjoining Delhi, Kejriwal, an IIT graduate in mechanical engineering, has refused police security and also an official bungalow allotted to the chief minister. by

இந்தியாவின் பிரதமராக 3 முறை பதவி வகித்த அடல் பிஹாரி வாஜ்பாய், தனது 89-வது பிறந்த நாளை இன்று எளிமையாக கொண்டாடினார்.

25-12-1924 அன்று குவாலியரில் பிறந்த வாஜ்பாய், வெள்ளயர் ஆட்சியை எதிர்த்து, இந்திய விடுதலைப் போரில் ஈடுபட்டதற்காக 1942-ம் ஆண்டு சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டார். அன்று முதல் தீவிர அரசியலில் தன்னை ஈடுபடுத்திக் கொண்ட அவர், 1957-ம் ஆண்டு பல்ராம்பூர் தொகுதியில் இருந்து முதன்முதலாக பாராளுமன்றத்துக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு எம்.பி. ஆனார்.

அவரது பேச்சாற்றலை கண்டு வியப்படைந்த முன்னாள் பிரதமர் ஜவஹர்லால் நேரு, என்றாவது ஒரு நாள் வாஜ்பாய் இந்தியாவின் பிரதமராக வருவார் என தெரிவித்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது. 1970-ம் ஆண்டு இந்தியாவில் நெருக்கடி நிலை சட்டம் (மிசா) பிரகடணப்படுத்தப்பட்ட போது, அதனை எதிர்த்து போராடி, கைதாகி சிறை சென்ற முக்கிய அரசியல் தலைவர்களில் வாஜ்பாயும் ஒருவர் ஆவார்.

பின்னர், பாரதிய ஜனதா கட்சியின் முக்கிய தலைவர்களில் ஒருவராக உயர்ந்த வாஜ்பாயின் பெயர் சுமார் 60 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக இந்திய அரசியலோடு ஒன்றிணைந்த பெயராகவே மாறிப்போய் விட்டது.

திருமணமே செய்து கொள்ளாமல் முழுநேர அரசியல்வாதியாக வாழ்ந்த அவர், இந்தியாவின் 10-வது பிரதமராக 16-5-1996 அன்று பதவி ஏற்றார். எனினும், பாராளுமன்றத்தில் போதுமான எம்.பி.க்களின் மெஜாரிட்டியை நிரூபிக்க முடியாமல் போனதை தொடர்ந்து 13 நாட்களிலேயே அவர் பதவி விலக நேர்ந்தது.

பின்னர், 1998-ம் ஆண்டு நடைபெற்ற தேர்தலில் பா.ஜ.க. தலைமையிலான தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணி அதிக இடங்களை கைப்பற்றியதையடுத்து, இரண்டாவது முறையும் பிரதமராக அவர் பதவி ஏற்றார். தேசிய ஜனநாயக கூட்டணிக்குள் ஏற்பட்ட கருத்து மற்றும் கொள்கை முரண்பாடுகளின் விளைவாக இந்த முறையும் 13 மாதங்கள் மட்டுமே பிரதமராக அவர் பதவி வகிக்க முடிந்தது.

அதன் பிறகு, அடுத்த ஓராண்டுக்குள் பாராளுமன்றம் கலைக்கப்பட்டு 1999-ல் பொதுத் தேர்தல் நடைபெற்றது. இந்த தேர்தலில் 303 எம்.பி.க்.களுடன் பா.ஜ.க. அபார வெற்றி பெற்றது. இதனையொட்டி, 13-10-1999 அன்று மூன்றாவது முறையாக அவர் இந்தியாவின் பிரதமர் ஆனார்.

இம்முறை 5 ஆண்டுகாலம் தனது பதவியை நிறைவு செய்த வாஜ்பாய், பொக்ரான் அணு குண்டு சோதனை, கார்கில் போர் ஆகியவற்றை வெற்றிகரமாக நடத்தி பாகிஸ்தானின் மூக்கை உடைத்தார். இதன் மூலம் இந்தியாவின் ஆற்றலையும், பெருமையயும் உலக நாடுகளுக்கு உணர்த்தினார்.

தங்க நாற்கர விரைவு நெடுஞ்சாலை உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு திட்டங்களின் வாயிலாக இந்தியாவின் உள்கட்டமைப்பையும் அவர் மேம்படுத்தினார்.

தேர்ந்த அரசியல்வாதி, சிறந்த நிர்வாகி என புகழப்படும் வாஜ்பாய் கவிதைகள் எழுதும் கலையிலும் கைதேர்ந்து விளங்கினார்.

2004-ம் ஆண்டு தனது 5 ஆண்டு கால பதவியை நிறைவு செய்த வாஜ்பாய், அரசியலில் இருந்து விலகுவதாக 2005-ல் அறிவித்தார். உடல்நலம் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் தற்போது பூரண ஓய்வில் இருக்கும் அடல் பிஹாரி வாஜ்பாய், இன்று தனது 89-வது பிறந்த நாளை கொண்டாடினார்.

பா.ஜ.க. மற்றும் இதர அரசியல் கட்சிகளை சேர்ந்த தலைவர்களும், தொண்டர்களும் அவருக்கு நேரிலும், தொலைபேசி வாயிலாகவும் வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்தனர்.

Though Ilayaraja's health has been improved Doctors have advised rest for him. There is only four days gap for The King of Kings Concert. When the organizers asked whether the concert can be postponed after New year's day, Raja has rejected the idea stating that he does not find any reason to postpone the planned event and also assured that he will come back soon and the Malaysian concert can be held as scheduled.

The India-US standoff over the arrest of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in New York continued Tuesday with New Delhi withdrawing the diplomatic identity cards issued to US consular officials here.

India Tuesday said it has decided to take firm "reciprocal steps" against US consular staff in the country following the end of the deadline for surrendering the identity cards provided to them.

The sources said new identity cards, which are replicas of those provided to Indian consulate officials in the US, are being given in lieu of the withdrawn cards.

New Delhi has also decided that no cards will be given to family members of US consular officials, as the same courtesy is not extended to Indians in the US.

India earlier used to extend cards to the family members also.

India has reacted sharply to the treatment meted out to 39-year-old Khobragade, who was arrested and subjected to strip and cavity search.

India has demanded an unconditional apology and also that charges against the former deputy consul general in New York be dropped.

India also took a slew of steps to pare down the privileges of US diplomats here in a retaliatory measure.

Khobragade was arrested December 12 on criminal charges of visa fraud and making false statements about how much she paid her housekeeper, Sangeeta Richard.

In order to ensure her full diplomatic immunity, India shifted Khobragade to the Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.

India Tuesday also said US consular staff will now only be permitted to import their requirements during the first six months on assuming office as is provided in the Vienna Convention for Consular Relations.

Earlier, they were allowed to import their requirements over the three-year period of their tenure.

Sources dispelled as incorrect the news that clearances were accorded for any of requests made for import of duty-free goods since the freeze was announced last week.

Sources said data provided by US schools is being analysed and assessed.

Senior officials, however, dismissed the concerns regarding security of US diplomatic officials in India.

"India takes its obligations under the Vienna Convention very seriously and there has not been any loosening of security.

"There is no change in the security situation and all US diplomatic and consular officials are being provided security as before," the sources said.

The sources added that the changes have been made in traffic movement patterns and no changes have been made in security status of the US embassy in New Delhi as security personnel continue to man checkposts there.

Kejriwal to be youngest CM of Delhi as AAP joins hands with Congress to form govt

Delhi is set to witness a major political change as the Aam Aadmi Party has finally decided to go ahead with government formation. The party declared on Monday that it would take the support offered by Congress, following which its leaders staked the claim to form government in a meeting with Lt Governor Najeeb Jung.

The decision by AAP has cleared way for Arvind Kejriwal to become the youngest chief minister of Delhi. And unlike to usual practice of a Chief Minister taking oath in the state assembly, Kejriwal has annouced that his swearing-in ceremony will take place at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital.

Soon after the party announced the decision, Sheila Dikshit addressed mediapersons saying the Congress support to AAP was not unconditional but based on how the latter performs in future. She reiterated that it was yet to be seen if Kejriwal's party fulfills the promises it made during its campaign.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) termed the decision of AAP to form Delhi government as betrayal of people's expectations. Harsh Vardhan pointed that while the AAP had always attacked Congress as a corrupt party, it had now accepted its support for political gains. The Delhi BJP CM candidate also hit out at the Congress, accusing it of making a "backdoor entry".

He, however, wished luck to the Aam Aadmi Party, asking them to work for the welfare of people.

Reacting to the developments, former Team Anna member Justice Santosh Hegde hailed the decision of Aam Aadmi Party to form the next government in Delhi. He said, "They have taken a good decision, I congratulate them...let them administer as long as they can"

"Ours is a democratic country a person can be friendly with anybody and can have many number of friends. It's the preference of the individual. Same way, nobody can compel that a particular individual should have sex only with another particular individual. Having sex or not is purely an individual's preference and in this issue, he/she shouldn't be forced to have partners as per others' liking," she has said. Kollywood is yet to react to Trisha's daring support of the same-sex community.

Film or no film, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is always in news.

If it's not about her looks, it has to be her link-up with Ranbir Kapoor - no never her acting skills.

Her marriage rumours have made more headlines than her movie.

While Ranbir has always maintained that he is single until he gets hitched, we wonder if the actress is trying to get her beau to finally make the commitment.

Couple of weeks ago actor Ranbir Kapoor graced Karan Johar's 'Koffee With Karan' with cousin Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Ranbir was thoroughly grilled about his rumoured relationship with Katrina. Both Karan and Kareena seemed determined to get Ranbir to admit his love before the episode was over.

But the Kapoor boy survived the day and kept mum about his relationship status. All he did was - blush, smile and blush more.

Though cousin Kareena is all set to dance on her cousin's wedding, the apparent bride-to-be is amused with these developments.

Confronting the media Katrina said Kareena's comments were made in jest.

In a recent interview to a leading publication Katrina clarified that Ranbir has not even proposed her.

The two are certainly in a very comfortable zone, going on vacation, attending events and gracing parties together.

So what's stopping Ranbir to pop the question?

And why are they being so discreet about their "so-clear-to-the-world" relationship?

Katrina replied, "Being in love and being in a relationship are two different things. A relationship which is not fully committed to, or which has not yet reached a culmination is something I believe you should be discreet about. And I have always tried to be discreet about what's in my life."

Hmmm! We wonder who is not committed here and why have they have not reached a culmination.

Now even Katrina is not ready to leave her 'unmarried tag'.

Talking about marriage plans Katrina said she doesn't know whether she will get married in the next five, 10 or 20 years, or ever. She is not willing to speculate about future.

Since Ranbir is not going down on his knees; Katrina might be holding back from making any plans, don't you think so?

But she accepts that Ranbir is an extremely important part of her life.
