Thalaiva Report after ten days in other states

Even as Thalaivaa is releasing in Tamil Nadu, amidst big fanfare, it has completed a 10 days’ run across the country and in overseas markets. We bring you the facts and figures of Thalaivaa’s run in the other Southern states so far.

Andhra Pradesh – Compared to the first weekend when it was screened in around 275 screens, the Telugu dubbed version titled Anna is being screened in around 55 screens in its second weekend. The total share in Andhra at the end of 10 days is expected to be around 3.5 crores.

Karnataka – At the end of the first week, the combined gross for the Tamil and Telugu versions is 5.7 crores with the distributor’s share being 2.7 crores. In Bangalore City, the occupancies in the second weekend were hovering around the 40% mark in single screens while some of the multiplexes such as Cinemax and Gopalan were sold out.

Kerala – The initial response in Kerala was great but there has been a drop after that and the collections haven’t been able to sustain the lofty levels that were seen in the first weekend. The first 10 days’ gross is expected to be somewhere close to 4 crores with the first weekend contributing a sizable 2.5 crores to the total gross till date.

We will be back with the Tamil Nadu opening figures of Thalaivaa in a few days’ time. Stay tuned for more updates.
